If you build it, they will come. Err, no, they won’t!
So, so many times I’ve seen this throughout my career in Hospitality and Marketing.
Companies spend literally hundreds of thousands of pounds on fantastic new builds and refurbishments only to spend £7.50 on marketing.
They’ve been busy.
Busy building the bars, working out just the right interior design, negotiating with suppliers, hiring staff (that’s a big time-consuming job just before an opening.
I understand. There have been many, many times that I’ve spent the afternoon before an opening night piling new glasses into a glasswasher one load at a time, training staff on how to use the new till system or even standing with a hairdryer next to that door that was painted a day too late!
And I expect your opening night will be very busy, but what about next week, next month, or three months down the line?
That’s why I urge you to take a brief moment to consider your long-term marketing plan and the good opportunity that exists to collect data and advertise at the same time when you’re relaunching.
Some really simple digital marketing strategies, done right and consistently but that take only around thirty minutes a few times a week will set your business apart from the competition – because they won’t be doing it!
I have ten free copies of my new book to give away, click here to register for your copy now.
